Synopsis: By 2008, Circuit City held court as the most successful electronics retailer in the U.S.; one year later, over 34,000 executives and store employees lost their jobs, the company filed for bankruptcy and liquidation, and the brand was soon extinct. But how did this happen? This documentary profile travels behind the scenes to answer that very question. It begins with a chronological history of the company, from its inception as Wards TV, through its rise to Fortune 500 status, through the problems the plagued its final year. What emerges is a portrait of a company besieged by leadership issues that it could not handle. The program features interviews with Alan Wurtzel, the son of the company founder, and Austin Ligon, founder and CEO of CarMax, as well as a series of ex-Circuit City vendors.     Source: allmovie.com
