Werewolf Hunter

Synopsis: Set in the mid-19th century, WEREWOLF HUNTER is based on the true story of one of the earliest serial killers on record. Sisters Maria (Maru Valdivielso) and Barbara (Elsa Pataky) live on the edge of a village terrorized by viscious wolves that leave a trail of dead in their wake. But the corpses display a disturbing mixture of precise cuts and brutal teethmarks that lead to the circulation of a legend of Allariz's werewolf. The sisters feel safe only when Josephine's lover, a travelling soap salesman named Manuel Romasanta (Julian Sands), comes to stay with them. When Josephine and Manuel travel to a neighboring city in search of a safe place to live, Barbara, who secretly pines after Manuel, is left behind in despair. When Manuel returns for her, Barbara's passion for her sister's man is consummated in a passionate affair, but her happiness is disturbed by a growing suspicion of Manuel, the only person not afraid to enter the woods. Soon her misgivings are confirmed, and Manuel confesses to the murders with a strange defense: he claims he is a werewolf.
